The third movement of this work is one of my personal favorites—both for its melody and the lofty scope of its presentation. It is also quite accessible to the intermediate player and can be performed stand-alone in recital or as second movement to the first. The entire work is an excellent showcase for the more accomplished player's skill, both musical and technical, and the five movements comprise a unified work.
