K04. Amanda

For Solo Piano, F Major, Level 4 - Intermediate

This piece was written one Saturday in May of 1985 with my grandmother, Amanda, in mind. The composition began with the main theme in slow tempo, but soon morphed into its present joyful sound and upbeat tempo and was completed within the hour. Amanda heard the piece before passing away not long after. Today I have a niece named Amanda as well.
